Peter Slocombe was born in Wolverhampton, England 1984. At six, Peter picked up the Clarinet, and at nine started on Saxophone. When his family moved to California in 1996, he quickly became involved in the young music scene. By the end of high school he was performing regularly with "Underwood", a well established rock band, in venues such as: The House of Blues, The knitting Factory, B.B kings, and The Key Club.
In 2006 Peter graduated from The California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in Jazz studies. He was also one of the 2006 recipients of the John Coltrane Music Scholarship in Saxophone performance.
Peter's first full length album entitled "Lullaby for Elizabeth" was released in Fall 2007 in conjunction with SNP Records.
Peter is currently attending The University of Nevada, Reno, while undergoing a teaching assistantship with well known saxophonist Peter Epstein.
As a professional musician Peter divides his time teaching and performing. He has had experience teaching privately, through the Community Arts Partnership (A nonprofit arts organization), and running clinic's at high school music programs. He has also shared the stage with well known jazz artists: Larry Koonse, Joe Lababera, Darek Oles, Vinny Golia, and John Fumo.
Some of Peter's Compositions can be heard on the 2004, 2005, 2006, Capitol record's released Cal Arts Jazz CD's.
