Album Notes

Peter Spencer has been writing songs and playing fingerpicking guitar for a long time now. His music has always had a lot of blues in it - even his Christmas music! But with "The Blues Concert" all that influence comes to the surface, erupting like an underwater volcano creating an island where there was no land before.

The metrical certainties of blues give Pete's songwriting a new, laser-like focus. His voice takes on the size and authority it always hinted at and his masterful guitar-playing finds the space his fans have always wanted. Accompanied only by Liam Graham's fretless electric bass, the guitar roams and explores this new terrain with joyful abandon, his solos drawing wild applause from the audience in the Island Music Guild Hall on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
