ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Peter spring is a multi-instrumentalist and teacher who has performed with the critically-acclaimed jazz group Weather Report, folk and blues artist David Bromberg, and pop star Dan Fogelberg, among many others. On this original song he plays bass, guitar, and sings background vocals behind the wonderful young singer Michael Maissonneuve, who, along with a drummer and pianist, delivers a powerfully felt inspirational ballad dedicated to peter's son Steven, a gifted bass player who performed with the legendary soul band Tower Of Power three months before dying of a very rare bone cancer at age 22. "You Are With Me" musically describes peter's belief that the soul continues after the body dies, and offers a comforting vision of continuing connection to the spirits of the honored dead for those who are experiencing the sorrow of loss, and the confusion of grief.
