This 3 CD box set is the story (in English and Anishinaabemowin) of the Journey of Wabinoqwe, an Ojibway woman, set in the pre-contact era. She journey's through the ups and downs of her life. The songs that accompany her journey were passed down to Alo White from his father, the late Alphonse White and his uncles Harry White, Frank White and John White. They are songs that in some cases have been in his family for generations. They are healing songs, grieving songs, ceremonial and spiritual songs of the Lake of the Woods Anishinaabe of Ontario Canada.

"Ever since I can remember, my parents were taking me to ceremonies and I was always given love by the Elders. The Elders would say 'let him stay and listen and learn he will carry this on.' My Elders always told me to 'help the people' and that is what I try and do in my life, help people. I am doing this CD project for future generations of Anishinaabeg, so the songs passed down to me will not be lost. Miigwetch for listening." - Alo White

Anishinaabe Elder Mide Kiwenzie, Gagagiibit (English name Alo White) is from Naotkamegwanning First Nation (formally known as Whitefish Bay) in Northwestern Ontario. He is a fifth degree Midewin, a carrier of the Midewin lodge, Midewin shaking tent and Midewin sweat lodge and Midewin teaching lodge.
