catchy melodic rock songs, self-deprecating lyrics that bridge conventional rock genres and make a sound uniquely his. His vocals are lush, you won't want to stop listening. He's often compared to Bono and Sting.

Album Notes

Before the age of 19, as a member of the teen act PC Quest, Stephen Petree was signed by John Kalodner to Geffen Records, signed by Irving Azoff to Giant Records and signed by Joe Galante to RCA Records. It was at RCA that he had a top 50 Billboard Pop Hit with "Can I Call You My Girl", a top 60 Billboard Pop hit with "After The Summer's Gone", and a top 50 Billboard R&B hit with "After The Summer's Gone".

From here Stephen went on to record four independent rock CDs with Paradigm, a group he founded with his brother Chad. In the mid 90's Paradigm played hundreds of shows in and around Oklahoma City, as well as receiving consistent local radio play. Seeking a wider audience Stephen and Chad moved to Los Angeles. It was there that Stephen began to hear a different voice beckoning him in another musical and personal direction.

Stephen had grown up listening to his father preach in a little church in his hometown of Shawnee, Oklahoma and soon found himself back in Shawnee sitting in with the band at church before becoming the church's musical worship leader. In the next few years he recorded four independent Christian CDs, toured with The Kenneth Copeland Ministries, sang on The Billy Graham Crusade at the Rose Bowl, produced and wrote several projects for others, including the Texas based band The Girls as well as Sally Colon. His song "Lord Of My Life" appeared on KCM records, and he recently sang the lead single "Faith To Faith" on Doxology Records. Stephen has even lent a hand vocally as well as contributing songs to Shiny Toy Guns, a techno pop band his brother Chad is currently in. Stephen has recently moved into writing songs for Television shows such as Guiding Light, Action House TV and most recently the theme song to Tour TV.

Stephen lives with his wife in a suburb north of Los Angeles and is the worship leader for a San Fernando Valley church. He teaches guitar and voice and is putting the finishing touches on a CD of all new songs titled "Resolve to Relax", which he is beginning to promote on a local tour with his band. With a humble smile, Stephen tells those he meets that he's a minister first and a rock star second. My job, he says, is to keep that in perspective and God can take my music anywhere he desires.

This is a wonderful CD. I have had it for a long time (over a year) and still have it in my car. I just listened to it yesterday. It is a great combination of fast songs and slower worship songs. Don't miss the hidden track at the end with a techno flair. My kids love that one!
