Monty Pyton meets The Rutles

Pet The Pig - Mothman And Other Twisted Tales:
This is a side project of Ed James, power popper extraordinaire and blast of unpretentious fun it is, too! A truly wacky mix of new wavey energy, Aldo Nova meets Barenaked Ladies at their silliest and silly, catchy
Rubinoos charms and surfy curves. Stylistically all over the place, yes like Monty Pyton meets The Rutles---but James' ability to write memorable hooks and contagious fun make this a lot more than just a toss-off side project!

One Of The Best Bands Of West Virginia
author: Graffiti Magazine
An aural feast for lovers of complex, Anglophile pop...and you have to like any band with a couple of songs about Mothman in its repertoire. At no extra cost, you also get several tunes sung in a fake British accent that’s better than that chap in Green Day.

File under: Weird Al Yankovic, King Missle, Rush, They Might Be Giants

From the goober guitars, vampy vocals, and Disneyland drums, it's readily apparent that these three little
pigs (Grunt, Oink, and Squeal) have been listening to too much Weird Al and watching way too much X-Files.
These trough lovers are caught in a Timewarp of the Rocky Horror variety, with comic rock lyrics that
don't even attempt to make sense. But they've got solid musicianship, a freakshow of samplings and some
impressive graphics on their CD case. With song titles like "Pig In A Porsche," it's apparent where
they're going: an asylum. Just check out the lyrics to Mothman: "He's got glowing red eyes, just like
Rudolph...but it's his eyes instead of a nose and he's got two instead of one". It's Rush meets Journey
with King Missile directing the works.

Clever, pop-rock jaunts into UK-flavored DIY rock
author: Charleston Daily Mail
Pet The Pig, a St. Mary's-based power pop trio, placed in the "A List" of Graffiti's "Best New Music Of West Virginia" feature in 2000. Timed to coincide with the release of the film "The Mothman Prophecies," this 14-track PTP offering leaves no pig reference unsung.
From the bonafide Christmas-sounding "Mothman Christmas" and the catchy "Pig In A Porsche" to the groovy and dark "In A Pig's Eye," the tunes are clever, pop-rock jaunts into UK-flavored DIY rock. The sparse, Joe Jackson-sounding "Talk Show" is more than just a clever tune -- it's a good song. Ditto with the instrumental "Surf Don't Walk," which does more than just the typical surf-rock cliches. "Alien Psychics From The Final Frontier" is a cool, sci-fi ditty -- a twisted, backwoods take (musically and lyrically) on a Web Wilder theme -- while "Perpetual Motion Machine" is a double-time Buzzcocks-like rocker. The disc includes some tunes that originally appeared on 1997's Twisted Tales disc. These guys are on to something, so check ‘em out.
