This is the debut album for artist/musician/songwriter Mark Pettit. The self-produced 12-song CD was written, recorded, produced and mixed in his home studio. The studio doubles as his painting and music studio where his passion for both takes shape.
As a successful, classically trained fine artist for over 27 years, Mark is no stranger to the creative process. His paintings are represented by several prestigious galleries around the country and he has received national recognition through numerous one-man and group exhibitions. His love of music goes back even farther as lead guitarist in several bands in Austin, Texas and Baltimore, Maryland. Now living in Ridgway, Colorado, he enjoys dividing his time between both his music and painting.
Heavily influenced by the music of the 60's and 80's, his thought provoking, melodic songs create a moving landscape of emotions. This album is a departure from his previous lead-guitar roots to more basic rhythmic guitar and vocal compositions. An unusual cross between The Byrds and The Cure might best describe this CD.
