Wilhelm Pfeiffer has a late vocation for singing. As late as in his early twenties he started discovering the world of Opera and, as a result of that, his love of singing. Back then, he focused on the works of Richard Wagner.
In his late twenties he took up singing lessons. However, Wilhelm Pfeiffer very soon touched on the limits of traditional "classical training" for vocalists. He realised that vocals training as such is only possible through the entirely free development of one's own personality. The human body and the human being in its entirety have to be perceived as an instrument which has to be developed, tuned and nurtured.
The natural consequence of this insight was to create a completely new kind of technique of developing and mastering the voice. This technique goes far beyond the limits of traditional register and helps Wilhelm Pfeiffer in playfully switching between high bass voices and all baritone registers, as well as dramatic and lyrical tenor.
When developing his individual sound, Wilhelm Pfeiffer was inspired by vocalist personalities like Theo Adam, Giovanni Martinelli, Birgit Nilsson, Spas Wenkoff and Wolfgang Windgassen.
Wilhelm Pfeiffer's style is captivating in its stylistically correct intensity and picturesque expressiveness. Even the first 20 performances revealed that his art appeals to a wide-ranging audience.
After two tracks released as real-tone ringtones only in 2007, "Die Taubenpost" by Franz Schubert (1797-1828) and "Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithful)" by John Francis Wade (1711-1786), Wilhelm Pfeiffer and Fabricio Moreira arrived at releasing the 16-track album "KLASSISCHE BALLADEN/CLASSICAL BALLADS" in March 2008.
TESTIMONIALS
It's amazing what you can do with one strong voice and a sensitive piano player. This is a wonderful disc that has strong appeal for fans of the genre.
George Young, Country Club Productions, Prospect, Australia
A beautiful selection of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn; an interesting evening [5 March 2009] full of music leaving many in the audience riding on a wave of excitement...
Jopie den Dulk, Burgenländische Volkszeitung Week 11, 11 March 2009, Neusiedl am See, Austria
This is an album for connoisseurs and experts! Baritone Wilhelm Pfeiffer and pianist Fabricio Moreira formed a congenial team whose musical togetherness literally merges into one - Viennese Pfeiffer's picturesque expressiveness guides you on a journey into the highly diverse world of classical ballad performance, backed by stellar pianist Moreira from Brazil
Our musical journey on this album calls on Bartholdy's "Reiselied", Schubert's "Sehnsucht" and Grieg's "Herbststurm", and continues with performances of "Blondels Lied" by Schumann and Wolf's "Der Feuerreiter", all flavoured by Wilhelm Pfeiffer's captivating style.
You can take it from me, the performances on this album (just arrived fresh from the pressing plant) are true refreshment and treat for any music lover!
Doris Schleifer-Höderl, Mostviertel-Basar No 238, November 2008, Amstetten, Austria
His [Wilhelm Pfeiffer's] vocal technique allows him to perform arias for Baritone and Tenor.
