Good Listening
author: Katie Weiss
Nice selection of traditional songs and tunes, ranging from mournful to foot-tappingly llively. Jody's singing is clear and expressive, perfectly suited to the material. The fiddle and concertina make for some close harmonies and driving rhythms. They've chosen some of my favorite old time songs, and presented them in unexpected ways. Kudo's to Paul and Jody for this thoughtful and varied cd.

Their fiddle and concertina play so cooperatively, with interaction ('counterpoint,' I'd guess is what's more correct) that goes way beyond just two separate instruments churning out tunes.
And I might just have to sit and listen all day... because now I've got '(It's My) Lazy Day' stuck in my head.

Beautiful stuff, beautifully played. A very pure strain of old-time. "Been All Round This World," "Yankee Squirrel Hunter," "Rain and Snow," "Cuckoo's Nest"--terrific.
