Album Notes

PHAYME (pronounced fame) is a female emcee who has been writing, rapping and performing for over 5 years in the rap game. PHAYME started her emcee training in a small New Jersey town where she grew up, then honed her skills in North Carolina and Detroit releasing her first single as a group with Acapella, another female rapper in the Big "D".

PHAYME postponed her rap career to work a 9 to 5 and make a living. She hit the scene again in Detroit 2000/2001 releasing a maxi single titled "Do Yo' Thang." She now lives in Philadelphia where she is working on her Master's degree and recording new material.

When asked to describe her style, PHAYME has this to say.. "I'm just me. But if you had to sum up my style, you could say I've got the homegirl feel of MC Lyte, the sassiness of Shante and Lil Kim, the consciousness of Bahamadia and Lauryn with the necessary roughness of Lady Rage and Rah Diggah."

We'd like to say that's damn good company...

This is a bangin' CD. It has been a long time coming for this type of feministic aggression in hip hop.A lot of females rap artist today are pretty much a flash in the pan and not authentic;however this is like a breath of fresh air in the new millenium.
