Philip John Brooks is a professional singer/songwriter/guitarist who appears throughout England and the United States. His extensive repertoire is ever changing as he incorporates his latest original songs in live performances. His compilations include the CD's "The Fishermen of Fleetwood, "A different place, a different time", and "Canyon Road". Philip has also written television theme music, computer software music, and popular songs recorded by Irish showbands and the English group, Country Pie.
Canyon Road is my second southwest CD, and I hope you find some of the magic of New Mexico in these songs. Take a walk up Canyon Road, hike Goose Creek Trail, and check out Santa Fe night life. Also included are songs of famous writers, a miner, and a Taos ski bum.
Some of my favorite musicians accompanied me on this album.
They include, Glen Duncan fiddle/banjo , Dow Tomlin bass, Wayne Killius drums, Dennis Wage piano/organ, Scotty Sanders steel guitar, and Charlie McCoy harmonica.
Recorded at Omnisound Studios, Nashville, Tennesse.

New Mexico Mellow
author: Ray Seibert
This is Philip's newest work, and maybe his best, although that is a hard choice, and I listen to all three, and hope for more soon. This album will take you to the enchanted land. If you travel to Santa Fe, you will know much of the lore. If you want to travel, but can not, this album can take you there anytime you need a breath of mountain air, and humor. There is always an instrumental for a final song on Philip's albums, and this is his best intrumental, so far. Chamisa, the final song, is hauntingly beautiful in the same way that "Sleepwalk" or other famous instrumentals will get in your bones. This one is mellow, haunting, with a Spanish sound, and a sense of tension, that will leave you wanting more. Get it today!
