Album Notes

Phil Gates hails from Chicago, Ill and has been playing guitar all over the world. Phil has played gigs from the smaller intimate clubs, to the Half-Time show of the NFL Superbowl.

Phil has been gigging around the Los Angeles area most recently, and has been seen w/ many local bands including "The Phil Gates Band" at local venues to include numerous engagements at B.B. King's Blues Club.

Guitar recording credits include a track on the Philip Bailey CD "Life & Love", a track with Maurice White's artist Keni Jackson, as well as w/ Maurice White and recording with artists like Karen Briggs.

Phil has also Co-produced a Blues record with guitarist Zac Harmon (2004) and Produced a record for guitarist/songwriter Jack Maher (2005).

Phil writes as well as plays guitar, and "This Side Of Me" reflects songs that have woven in and out of Phil's life as some of his favorites. It's a collection that includes many genre's, that will take you on a pleasant journey that you'll want to hear many times.

Phil has two full endorsements with Ernie Ball/MusicMan Guitars, and Ultimate Support music stands respectively.
