Album Notes
Get an infusion of a new kind of fusion called Cobalt Cool, a blend of blues, latin and traditional jazz. You'll be snappin', tappin', and on your feet dancin', cuz when Cobalt's walkin' you can't sit still. From the dark "By the River" to the politically charged "Bush Comes to Shove" and the bittersweet "Roses in Autumn", Gatewood's lyrics capture the human heart at it's best and worst. Obviously Philip and company love life, love love, and love making music together.

Philip Gatewood is an often published writer as well as a songwriter and musician. Professionally he works in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a private detective. He is divorced and has three grown children.

Cobalt Cool
Hi Philip,

Don't give up your day job for playing spades, lol! Enjoyed the music, overall fun/light in nature......impressive complexity, smooth, some nice transitions......a string player would add tremendous depth, has alot of same repetitive qualities, maybe change it up a little.........of course, this coming from worship musician.

Take care,

Well done!
A dynamic audio experience that tickles all the right brain cells. Lively, vibrant and something that if played socially as background music, strikes an ear of many and prompts them to ask, "Who is this artist?" One can proudly proclaim, "It's the Philip Gatewood Band - Cobalt Cool!"
