PHILIPPIAN IMMANUEL MICHAEL MITCHELL was born on December 1, 1979 in Houma, Louisiana to Mary Louise Mitchell and Joseph Ray Simmons; life wasn't all good for PHILIPPIAN and his family. Raised in Senator Circle Housing Community aka Mechanicville Projects was a big eye opener. Seeing the lower part of his city at first hand allows PHILIPPIAN to rap about life from a realistic point of view. Living poor and broke, He witness the pain and struggle his family had to face on a daily base. Both of PHILIPPIAN's parents were incarcerated when he was young, so he and his siblings bounce from relative to relative to live with, up until his teenage years. Along the way of growing up, PHILIPPIAN picked up rapping because of his love for music. Music gives PHILIPPIAN a way to express his true feelings about what's going on around him. He puts his heart in every song he writes, you can tell from his lyrics in every one of his songs. By PHILIPPIAN being determined to succeed in life, he educated himself diligently with knowledge to overcome the pitfalls that held his family in poverty. Using scholarships and some other small time jobs, PHILIPPIAN put himself through college after graduating high school. PHILIPPIAN uses the knowledge he attains along his journey in life and applies it to his music to address reality, which makes his songs come to life for fans that understand the ups and downs of life and still maintain to live strong despite their trails and tribulations.
