Album Notes

Reynold D. Philipsek has made many albums in the Gypsy Jazz Guitar vein. This collaboration with chromatic harmonica virtuoso Clint Hoover finds the music in a more contemporary vein. Wes Montgomery has long been an influence on Reynold and East Side clearly shows this influence.

Reynold and Clint have put together a stellar quartet with Matt Senjem on acoustic bass and percussion expert Michael Bissonnette. The music clearly shows the influence of everything from Piazzolla to Miles Davis. Another heavy influence on this recording was the East Coast jazz of the 1950s and early 1960s hence the title East Side.
