Album Notes

Phil Krawczuk: Living on the Mountain
“Your music's color is very changeable depends on location and mood, it makes sense?
Every moment .... Different feeling.............. It's very hard to explain.”
Quote: Jin Seo (South Korea)

Stellar performances, complex arrangements draw you in. This CD was inspired and written at Emerald Ridge Studio which is located on the mountain overlooking the beautiful Fraser Valley in BC, Canada.
These songs are really a compilation of influence from all of my favorite music which spawns from the likes of the Beatles, The Who, Miles Davis, all the greats, to the art rock and fusion of the 70s and 80s. As you listen though the CD you can hear different influences weave in and out of these artist original pieces of music.
Phil Krawczuk: Keyboards, Bass, Drums and Percussion.
Brent Saklofske: Electric and Nylon Guitars
With a variety of special guests like Glen Rowley (Solo Synth), Lillian Penner (Violin, Flute) appearing throughout the CD.

Phil Krawczuk is a first class drummer. It has been his passion from the moment he saw Ringo Starr and the Beatles play on the Ed Sullivan show in the 1960’s. Phil loves most all styles of music, strong influences are Jeff Beck, Stanley Clark, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Art Blakely, Buddy Rich, Miles Davis, Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Steely Dan, Herbie Hancock, Yes, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Steve Gadd, Simon Phillips, Jeff Pocaro, the list goes on.

Phil studied jazz and classical theory at Mt Royal College under the tutelage of Gary Deboeck and Dave Diver in Calgary, Alberta. He has worked as a studio drummer recording albums, jingles, and TV working with producers such as Stacey Haden, Dan Brodbeck and Peter Brennan to name a few. Phil taught drums and theory for 15 years, he also spent many years traveling and taking private instruction in Canada, USA and Cuba.

Phil toured North America and Europe for over 35 years with many great artists and in just about every venue possible. Some of the highlights were Bob Newhart Show, London Symphony, Much Music, CBC TV, Global TV, Much Music in Europe, tours with several JUNO award artists.

With the release of his first self titled solo CD, “Living on the Mountain”, he feels the freedom to express the music he has waited to unleash throughout his career.
