The Philly Soul Tribute Project is eleven new recordings of classic tunes from the Philly Soul era. Great songs originally made famous by groups like The Stylistics, The Spinners, and The O’Jays are reinterpreted by some of Nashville’s finest singers and musicians.
The brainchild of musician and producer Bobby King, The Philly Soul Tribute Project is truly a labor of love. “I’ve been fortunate to live in two of the greatest music cities in America. I was raised on the sounds of Philadelphia and came of age there as a musician. In 1991 I moved to Nashville to become part of its exciting musical community, but Philly soul music has always remained close to my heart. I wanted to create a project that combined Nashville’s love of the song with Philly’s soulful chords, grooves, and melodies.”

how sweet it is
author: Anthony Stallard
This one's for the love of the music, what a creative interpretation of some terrific material as only Nashville can deliver. Players with attributes a Tribute like this so deserves. "Backstabbers" is an exceptional piece of work. This is one sweet album. I love its independence...puts me where I want to be. Support the 'independent' spirit - Buy it!
