As a follow-up to our hugely successful Northern Soul CD, "The Best of Northern Soul," "The Best Of Northern Soul Vol. 2" features more rare, hard-to-find Philly
hits plus some never released recordings by some of Philadelphia's finest artists and groups that were part of the sound known as Northern Soul. Along with artists and groups featured in our first CD, including Len Barry, Bunny Sigler, Cindy Scott, Johnny Caswell, Joey Heatherton, The Sweet Three, Grover Mitchell, The Formations, George Tindley and The Sherrys, Vol. 2 also features The Electric Indian, Joe Renzetti, The Lavenders with Leon Huff, The Bobbi-Pins, Daryl Hall, The Mellow Moods, The Moods, The Tymes, James Bounty, The Chargers and Cupit.
This one-of-a-kind CD is presented by songwriter/record producer, John Madara, through That Philly Sound, which is dedicated to the music that came out of Philadelphia during the 50's and the 60's. John Madara, along with partner, Dave White, wrote and produced such timeless classics as AT THE HOP (Danny And The Juniors), THE FLY (Chubby Checker), YOU DON'T OWN ME (Leslie Gore) and 1-2-3 (Len Barry, who also co-wrote the song with Madara & White). These and countless other hits by Madara & White helped to create "The Sound Of Philadelphia."
This historical CD contains valuable information, when available, on the musicians who played on each song as well as the date the song was recorded and the studio where it was recorded. Two of the musicians were unknowns, Leon Huff and Daryl Hall, both discovered by John Madara, before they hooked up with Kenny Gamble and John Oates.
All songs have been digitally restored and digitally mastered.
Make this historical CD a part of your oldies record collection!

The Best of Northern Soul volume 2
author: Kenneth Dion
I recently purchased this Cd and it arrived safely and in excellent condition. This is a good Cd with excellent music. I got it because of Daryl Hall with the Electric Indian. I also found out that the Electric Indian recorded one album with Keem_o-Sabe on it and I was able to obtain it. It is a good album. Thanks again for carrying this cd with rare Daryl Hall material.
