"Rain on the Sand" is the product of a songwriter with an over-active imagination. The songs come from science fiction, from fantasy, and from the lives of people who follow those artistic genres in books and other media. Individual pieces touch on a broad range of subjects and moods such as: pacifist Orcs (Southbound), powerful evil beings and their pets (Melkor's Blues), aging and experience (I'll Remember), and the pervasiveness of music itself (Differences). The music is primarily acoustic and lyric-oriented, with some supporting electronic arrangement.
