Album Notes

Influenced by 60's Beat music, American Cowboy, Stax Soul & Show tunes, Phil Smith is the Eclectic Troubadour, smashing down fences & keeping the listener guessing, smooching & dancing. Phil Smith is a teller of weird tales & songs that seem to wash over one as Ear Candy, but ultimately compel the listener to think. Smith lets his astonishing sense of humour loose within all his compositions, thereby allowing him to wriggle off the hook, and giving the listener something to grin about. He is a rock dog, a sentimental acid-crooner, and an unrepentant loudmouth with Jekyll AND Hyde tendencies, who will draw you in for a visit before you realise you're actually applying for residency. Since the release of 'All Things Considered' in Nov. 07 on his own label, Half-Tone Records, Phil has gone on to gig, record, engineer and produce. His latest CD, 'I Work Nights' is a lo-fi labour of love record with a big heart.
