Phil Tweed is a highly accomplished musician, pianist, producer and multi award winning singer and songwriter. With sixteen years of experience in the recording industry and having been on the production team of over 100 album projects, Phil has a wealth of experience to draw on, encompassing both the studio environment, and live recording situations. One of the recent releases from the studio is the Marty Worrall (Aust Idol finalist 2004)single ‘One Day’, which Phil produced and co-wrote.
Obtaining both a Diploma and Bachelor of Music, Phil has
gone on to win numerous awards as a singer and songwriter.
These include Best Male Vocalist in the ABC Newcastle
Music Awards 2003, an Honourable Mention in the USA Songwriting Competition 2003, Best Instrumental Composition in the ABC Newcastle Music Awards 2005, and most recently, Best Instrumental in the Australian Songwriting Awards 2007.
Phil is also an experienced performer and musical director.
He has a large selection of original material, as well as a full repertoire of covers and jazz standards. Phil has played alongside accomplished musicians in the jazz, pop and rock genres, ranging from small ensembles to large scale bands for any and all occasions. He also fronts his own band and plays/sings solo ‘piano bar’ style for weddings, corporate events and functions including regular weekend spots at Hunter Valley Gardens, Tallawanta Lodge.
He was featured at Hunter Harvest 2005 as Musical Director, where he led a 200 voice choir and 3 bands, performing to record crowds at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre over 4 nights.
