PHOEBE LYNG is an acoustic singer/songwriter living in New York City.
Phoebe was born and mostly raised in Manhattan by Broadway actors. When they weren't living in the City, Phoebe and her brother/band member, Max Kmeck, grew up travelling around the world following the whims of their parents' artistic careers. By the time she reached highschool, she'd been in and out of 13 schools, had a stint homeschooling, moved numerous times within in 4 countries, and went on enough of adventures to become a prolific story teller. Her unconventional upbringing and position as the constant new kid honed an acute, objective point of view that would later become an asset to her songwriting. "Music has an uncanny way of bridging gaps in places where people cannot relate to one another."
Phoebe is also influenced by folk, bluegrass and country rock music such as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, CSN, CCR, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Nick Drake, Janis Joplin and very much admires current artists Ray Lamontagne, Ane Brun, Iron and Wine, Alexi Murdoch.... and many others.
Her first EP "Unadorned" (Producer, Patrick Rutz) is an intimate recording titled after the raw acoustic sound of her voice and guitar.
She is currently working on her full-length album where she will be joined by her band the way she is at her her shows around New York City.
