Phoebe Marie mixes in different genres
author: Justin Hundsnurscher
Phoebe Marie is back! now with her 11 song full length CD. Her new CD is just slightly different than from her 2002 5 song EP. Phoebe has 4 songs in english, 6 songs in spanish, and 1 song that is in spanglish. Phoebe once again proves that she has many different types of styles and sounds. Each song on the album sound different from each other. Each song sounds like it can come off from a different artist and album. Phoebe mixes two languages in "Gordito" a song about moving the belly. She mixes a little bit of latin, pop, and hip-hop into the song. Phoebe becomes sad in the only english ballad called "Gone" a song about losing a loved one. Not only does Phoebe sing "Gone" in english but also has the spanish version of it as the bonus track. Phoebe also shines with "Mi Sueno" a spanish song that has a rock feel to it. Phoebe also finishes off the album with "Show me what you got" a very poppy song with an r&b feel. Phoebe also has the song "Desvelada" a song that features Felo Sepulveda in the sax, giving the song a jazzy feel but still creates an uplifting latin sound. Phoebe also brings in rapper Lil' Mike in the songs "Illusion", "'Cause it hurts", "Gordito", and "I got the walk" giving each song it's hip-hop side without losing it's unique sound. Phoebe mixes in two languages, various types of generes (pop, rock, latin, tejano, dance, jazz, reggaeton, hip-hop, r&b), and unique sounds, making "Phoebe Marie" her very own.
