In August of 1975, God called and Phyllis answered. Spreading the gospel through song is the mission, reaching the lost and dying world is the goal.
Phyllis has a style of music all her own. Her style of singing has been described as a mixture of tradition /contemporary gospel with a touch of jazz thrown in for good measure.
Phyllis was born in Mobile, Alabama with a family rooted and grounded in Jesus. Her love for gospel music began as a child. During her youth she remembers being awakened every morning by the voice of her mother singing gospel hymns and songs of praise.
Phyllis has ministered in live concerts; gospel stage performances, community events nationwide and most recently Montego Bay, Jamaica, leading her audience into praise and adoration of the Lord Jesus Christ. She plans to travel to Uganda, East Africa in the near future to share her personal testimony and ministry in song with the people of God.
Currently, Phyllis is set to debut her CD \"New Beginning\" August 30, 2008. Her debut CD follows her successful demo CD released in 2005 to rave reviews. Phyllis received a testimony regarding the demo CD that was so powerful. An elderly woman was going home to be with the Lord requested her daughter to play the song \"Because He Lives\" from Phyllis CD cover and over. She took her last breath comforted by this popular tune.
Phyllis has a passion for winning souls by sharing the Word of God and ministering in song. Her favorite scripture is Psalms 34 verse \"I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth\".

The quality of tones/notes that you are to able to bellow is awesome. As my old country grandmother would say when she was amazed at God. “WELLLLLLL SIR ! Phyllis God is so funny sometimes; he’s really got a sense of humor the way he makes things happen. Let me explain. O.K. today I was early for work so I decided to run into the wig store by the job. I buy wigs all over Sacramento but I had never been in there before. I just run in to look around. I noticed right off the bat they were playing gospel music as I entered. The Asian lady says hello, I say hello. She began to come my way and I held up my hand and said I’m just looking I’ll call you if I see something. She left me alone. I found two wigs I wanted to try on. She brought them to me and I again said. I’m fine I’ll call you if I need you. Meaning…. ” I’m only 999 years old and very capable of trying on this damn doll hair with out you hovering over me”. O.k. she left me alone again. So I’m struggling to put the little stocking cap on my big head and not expose my little “just washed hair and crazy looking braids”. Then all of the sudden I hear this beautiful melody playing. I stopped and I heard…….F-I-N-A-L-L-Y. Girl I jumped straight up out of the chair one wig fell on the floor the other one landed on the table. The stocking capped was half cocked on my head and my braids were standing all over as I was screaming “THAT’S MY BOSS!” The little Asian woman ran back in the back and said ….you o.k.? I said yes that’s my boss signing that song. She said oh you mean PHYLLIS, she very nice lady…she just in here today. Then she showed me your promotional postcard. Girrrrrrrrr! I smiled and eased myself back down in the chair and tried on my little wigs. I was shaking my head in amazement and all I could say was …….WELLLLLLL Sir.
