Album Notes

Quick!

How many piano-bass-drums acts can you think of that play pop-rock stuff?

Come on....

How many?

What? Ben Folds? Billy Joel? Elton John? There's not too many, are there?

That's EXACTLY why Pianocidal exists. The arena of piano rock music is woefully underexplored.

When I did "Far Cry From Divine" in '99 I had an idea for a piano-dominant act. The resulting cd was the seed of my interpretation of piano rock. But the seed needed water...

"Pianocidal Maniac" in 01 was, essentially, me watering myself; a collection of demo-tacular tunes designed to push the 88s into even more rocking territory.

"Everybody's Ugly But Me" in 03 was recorded at Kid Rock's old favorite studio, the Tempermill. The rock idea was coming to fruition on tracks like "Antidote" and "8 Mile Dancer."

And now, finally, O.S.O.S. has brought the vision I had six years ago into full bloom. Thanks to the seizure-prone drumming of Larry Ricard (of Jendza), O.S.O.S is - I'm venturing to assert - the ONLY piano rock collection using a progressive metal, double-bass driving drummer to kick it into high gear.

I really hate boasting, but do YOU know of any piano players who have created anything this aggressive?

I didn't think so.

O.S.O.S - the name says it all. We're "On Some Other S___"

The best. If you like rock music and don't buy this CD, you're on some other stuff alright. Get it. NOW. There is none higher in the genre of piano rock than Pianocidal. He has indeed reattached the balls back to the 88s.
