ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This song has a beautiful vocal and inspiring lyrics. It is set in downtown Manhattan. Imagine a couple walking between high rises and the trauma of 9/11 still haunting the area. The feeling of doom and despair of the terror attack on NYC is expressed in metaphors, moods and in an interpersonal story merging lyrics and musical colors to one memorable song. It is abstract enough to be timeless and brings hope in any time of distress.
The singer-songwriter's thoughtful and ethereal vocals on her first single release are breath taking. This is a soundtrack version with an especially sensitive approach to drums and not available on any compilation (her debut album is due for release in early 2012). With vocal echoes of Joni Mitchell, lyrical ties to Leonard Cohen and acoustic guitar rooted in American folk traditions, PIA's song "You!" plays like an intense and meditative statement. Overall, this is a work of intense self-inspection and it is an inspiring love song, pulled from days spent wandering the city and nights spent on rooftops.
