REVIVAL HYMNS & CHORUSES is worship artist Chris Picco’s debut album. Seven tracks (6 new arrangements of hymns plus an original song) make up this heart-felt homage to familiar songs from our church’s past.
Chris approaches hymns with a desire to maintain the emotion and passion that the writers put into them. Too often the tendency is to sing these songs without taking time to let the powerful lyrics sink in, and the beautiful melodies are rushed.
"My prayer for this project is that people will once again connect with these songs from our past, and that we all might rethink how we present them in our churches today. A lot of care was put into how we treated the hymns and how we tried to keep the sentiments of the writers and continue on within their inspiration. This is just one interpretation. I hope this album creates a desire within the listener to find their own voice in the story." - Chris Picco
