Rod Picott's 2001 debut album, Tiger Tom Dixon's Blues, was hailed by Robert Oermann at Music Row Magazine as, "the birth of a major, major artist." Now nipping at its heels just a year and a half later comes Rod's sophomore effort, Stray Dogs.
Stray Dogs was produced by David Henry (Cowboy Junkies, Josh Rouse) and features Craig Krampf on drums, Paul Slivka on bass, and guest appearances by Slaid Cleaves and Alison Krauss.
Despite the heady company, it's Picott's smoky delivery and confident songwriting that stands out here on Stray Dogs. A worthy successor to his remarkable debut.

i first heard circus girl on radioio and had to check out this artist. stray dogs is a great cd and i enjoy all of the songs. great lyrics with catchy melodies.

Rod Picott is stuck in my cd player!

What a wonderful cd! This thing is currently stuck in my cd player and keeps playing over and over, lol. I'm very impressed with his variety, he rocks, does some smokey bluesish-altcountry, however you want to describe it he seems to defy being categorized. Fresh stuff The next time I hear that this guy is coming to town I will not miss the show.. see ya there!

Wonderful CD!

It's great to see Rod getting airplay for this fine piece of work. I heard Circus Girl on radioio.com, and came and bought the Stay Dogs CD. Now I hear all the songs on Radioio and elsewhere. Stay Dogs will be at the top of my CD stack for a long time to come! Highly Recommended!
