Pied-à-Terre melds the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland, Quebec, and Appalachia with world-music rhythm grooves. Fiddle, button accordion and Scottish small pipes do their traditional thing along with fretless bass, guitars, keyboards, and African percussion. Jigs and reels and a little juju and funk as well. Pied-à-Terre plays for dances throughout the Pacific Northwest and ventures further afield to play for festivals and dance camps.
Pied-à-Terre is Rob Barrick: bass, Scottish smallpipes, & percussion; Dan Compton: fiddle, guitars, mandola & banjo; Fran Slefer: button accordion, fiddle & piano.
