notes

Pierced is a group of six musicians from Louisiana. "Pierced: Take me to the Table" is a soundtrack for an annual youth retreat in the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana. The theme song for Veritas XVI 2005 is the title track, and some new originals, like "Carpenter's Hands," old standards, like "There's a Stirring," and some old Pierced songs, "Like Show me the Way," make this EP very special.

The name Pierced was inspired by Isaiah's prophecy of the sacrafice that Jesus would be for us, and the novel "Pierced by a Sword" written by author Bud McFarlane, whose words have touched many hearts, including our own. The title of his book is based on the Gospel story of the Presentation:

"and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His Mother, 'Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted, and you yourself a sword will pierce so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.'"- Luke 2:34-35

This is a good choice for worship. Yes it is light, but not exclusively feminine. The guitar and vocals are strong. I recommend it to anyone with a spiritual ear.
