Lee Pinkerson echoes the call of the blue ridge mountains in her new cd "Deep in the Hollow". She wrote this collection of bluegrass, country folk, native american, gospel and singer-songwriter storytelling blues, weaving a portrait of life as she lives it-with earthy realism. Acoustic guitar, mandolin and fiddle sizzle throughout this progression of alternating musical genres. Check out this enticing new sound from an old musical tradition! It will open your mind, curl up the corners of your mouth and brighten your eyes.
Lee lives in the blue ridge mountains, entertaining for friends at festivals. She does a musical interpretation of native american history; a storytelling string of songs emphasizing environmental, family and peace issues. She has also been doing a tribute to June Carter Cash called "Wildwood Flower". In the winter she goes down to Florida, where she performs songs about Florida natural history-Calusas and Seminoles, Alligators and Manatees, spanish ships and pirate tricks!
