This collection of songs was recorded on a portable Korg studio in the back room of my house. We were looking for a plain, spare sound. The title song, "Fruit of the Yew", was written by me in 1989 to help encourage the traditional archers of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Since then the tune has grown legs of its own and moved from event to event, campfire by campfire. Every once in awhile I'll walk by a camp and hear it being performed, which is the highest honor a songwriter can ever receive!

I was asked to learn this song decades ago. If you want to play for archers - this is the song. It will set their hearts aflame and they will love you!

Great music. I particularly like the story songs and unaccompanied vocals.

A very listenable collection of songs. I always go back to this album for good singing without a lot of 'back-up' - just good singing.
