Album Notes

San Francisco-based trio Pirate Radio plays gritty, energetic rock'n'roll. Their stripped down and heart-felt sound shifts easily between garage rock, power-pop, old-school boogie rock, country-soul, and vintage Americana. Live shows highlight the band's dynamic nature, infusing audiences with their confident sound and infectious energy.

With three years of Bay Area experience, Pirate Radio has performed at Thee Parkside, Edinburgh Castle,The Stork Club, Broadway Studios, Tongue and Groove,HotelUtah, Voodoo Lounge, Peacock Lounge, and The Lost and Found Saloon. In August 2003 the band created and headlined Urban Cowboy, a theme party attended by 200 fans at Club Galia (12 Galaxies) dancing among bails of hay and listening to authentic rock-n-roll.

Pirate Radio's self-titled album is due for release in March 2005 on Lo5 Records. The 12 song LP was recorded at the renowned Tiny Telephone Studios by Aaron Prellwitz (Hella, Sun Kil Moon/Red House Painters, Alaska.) To listen to their latest tracks click here or the music link below.

"Bottom line...I'm a fan. Pirate Radio has many of things I look for in music-promise. Very refreshing."
- Mark Rodgers, Broke-down Opry & The Devil's Own.

"Think Replacements meets the Stones after Keith Richards spent a week in Telluride - boot stompin' fun and great beer drinking music."
- Peter Lackis, SF Musician/Singer/Song-Writer
