Built on integrity and passion, The Pirates Charles’ music, lyrics, and performance starkly challenges the boundaries of Pub Rock, Pirate Music, Gimmick Bands, and Rock in general. What ever happened to the good ol\' days, when entertainers were entertaining? You\'ll find no fake swords or plastic hooks, but rather music and theatrics written out of love of the sea, historical conflict, and the romanticized piracy of literature and tradition. The group’s varying background in Blues, Rock, Jazz, Improv, and Symphony, Stage Theater, Comedy, and the like have culminated into a theatrically diverse and musically engaging performance of war ballads, drinking songs, sea shanties, tales of exotic islands, and characters rich as the queen herself. Modern rock influence on old world music and a-capella work songs from the 1600-1800s pull audiences out of this time, and thrust them into a forgotten era of fantasy and adventure.
Captain Diggity leads the charismatic bunch, and fans sing along with 5 part male vocal harmony, The Red Pirate Cassidy on acoustic guitar and David F. Gale on bass, Deedle Cronin shredding on a mandolin, and Tor Cronin-Flute Master, with thunderous percussion of Harpoon Austin and the eloquent wailing of the fiddlin\' Fiddlewench. This, the third self released album, features the electric energy of our live performances, comedic live atrocities, a few classics, and some old favorites with new steez.
