Singer-songwriter Bernadette McCallion and songwriter-producer Rich Gaglia have teamed up for a new electronica project called Pitch Black Dream. This *limited edition* CD is available exclusively through CD Baby. Get your copy while they are available.

As a solo artist, Bernadette's music has appeared on NBC, MTV, XM Satellite Radio, syndicated radio, and in indie films. Rich Gaglia is a NYC based producer and front man for the rock-alternative band Psych!

Bernadette and Rich's cover the Doors' "Love Me Two Times" was chosen for Skipping Discs compilation "Love Her Madly: New Women Artists Cover The Doors." (Also available at CD Baby.) With the success of that recording, the pair decided to write and record new material as a duo and the result is "Never Going Home." Together, they are forging a new sound in electronic music - dreamy, beat-driven, and hypnotic with a dark edge.

Russ Elliot of Musical Discoveries called it "Sweet, sensual and evocative..." Ben Ohmart of Music Dish says, "Pitch Black Dream wants you to relax. Let the eyes close. Let the sex roll... "

The track 'Invitation Only' was just featured on The Shield, on FX. Nine of the ten tracks were featured in multiple episodes of MTV's reality drama, Camp Jim. The track 'Remember This' was featured in MTV's Real World Paris. Tracks from "Never Going Home" are in rotation on XM Satellite radio and were recently featured the national radio show Women In Music with Laney Goodman. The title song can be heard in a new Canadian documentary of the same name, and the indie thriller "The White Room"

Always at work, PBD's cover of "Space Oddity" is the lead track in Skipping Discs compilation of new artists paying tribute to David Bowie, "Spiders from Venus."

Try and resist, I dare you

Accessible almost to a fault, some might call this irresistible catchy dance pop sound "cheesy." But, isn't Motown catchy accessible pop too - and no one feels the need to apologize for loving it. OK, this disc has its Madonna (at her best-produced and electronically arranged) moments, and I thought I caught a Janet Jackson reference. But at the opening bleeps a smile spread across my face as the endorphins started running, and the solid compelling bass drew me along. At times the instrumentation reminded me of early Sarah McLachlan tracks - you know, when she was cool - and at times it evoked the Doors, under the sometimes-cliched sweetening. And Invitation Only. Completely accesssible but extremely chill dance. At my wedding, after the ritual 'first dances,' the dj will play Invitation Only as the first song for all to get up and slink to.

How often do you get a CD you can play

How often do you get a CD you can play all the way through again and again? Here's one. A less is more duo with cool melodies and great instrumental touches. Bernadette's voice is her own. I might compare the quality to Everything But The Girl, Timo Maas, Massive Attack, Vanessa Daou, or Morcheeba but Pitch Black have their unique approach so comparisons end up superficial. Very strong songwriting.
