Album Notes

Dave Pittenger pours every ounce of his heart into his music. You can hear it in his voice, see it in his expressions and feel it within yourself as he performs. Influenced by the works of Tori Amos, Phish, Stevie Wonder and Ben Folds, among others, Pittenger has a solid background from which to draw as he performs and writes.

A New Jersey native, Pittenger moved to Philadelphia at 18 to study music composition. While in college it didn't take long for him to realize that his real passion was as a singer and songwriter. From the downbeat of his first full-band show in 2001, it was clear that Philadelphia's best kept secret was a secret no more. Dave Pittenger's music just hits on something inside of people and manages to make a lasting impression.

Photographs to Nowhere, the 2003 debut from the Dave Pittenger Band, showcases the versatility of their ever-evolving sound and has garnered an amazing response from fans and critics alike. The songs offer something for everyone--from high energy, feel-good rhythms to subtle, pensive tunes all the way to straight-up jamming. Throughout Photographs to Nowhere, the band explores different sonic textures and instrumentation, all the while keeping it distinctly their own.

Working tirelessly to promote himself and touring relentlessly has gone hand-in-hand with Dave's continuous pursuit of songwriting. Dave Pittenger has been able to share the stage with national and regional touring acts such as Jazz Mandolin Project, The Lost Trailers (with Brad of Dispatch), The Slip, Jennifer Hartswick Band (members of Trey Anastasio Band), Fighting Gravity, Lloyd Dobler Effect, Wheatus, The Ally, The Argument and Jimmies Chicken Shack, among others. He was also chosen to represent the first wave of independent bands that will be featured side-by-side with national acts on realmagictv.com, a website featuring concert footage and interviews with major artists. As his fan base continues to grows across the country, Dave Pittenger shows no sign of slowing down.

"With a unique ability to blend clever songwriting and technical integrity, Dave and the boys are not to be taken lightly...this band isn't just a bunch of kids pounding on guitars with reckless abandon." -Aquarian Weekly
