Album Notes

You may know PJ by the name Paul Roraback, the drummer from such recording and touring bands as GRAMMATRAIN, BLOODGOOD, GIDEON'S PRESS, MONTE MONTGOMERY or many others. Aside from working with numerous artist he's also kept himself busy teaching drums, performing clinics, producing, and working as a tech for drum legend TERRY BOZZIO for a few years.
BULLIES AT THE BORDER is PJ Bostic's first solo release, and his first project as a multi-instrumentalist. Heavily influenced by Rush, Tool, Porcupine Tree, King's X, Yes and Pink Floyd, PJ approaches his music from the heart, with musical honesty and integrity.
“Growing up as some what of an outcast” says PJ, “I often resorted to the solitude of a Willow tree in my backyard, where I had a tree fort. I would sneak my older brother's tape player out there and listen to music until the batteries died. I discovered at a very young age that I had an incredible love for music. Even heavy music can be very beautiful to me if it's honest and performed well.”
To back his solo effort live, PJ has recruited drummer Danny Poole and bass player Rene Herrera, as PJ is performing lead vocals, guitar and keyboard midi pedals. A new EP is in the works which will feature Danny and Rene and then PJ plans on releasing a live album and another full length CD as a multi-instrumentalist some time next year.
“Rush fans rejoice - you must get this album! PJ Bostic, AKA Paul Roraback has channeled Rush, Tool, Yes, and King's X into a fantastically rocking heavy prog album.....Sounding for all the world like a power trio, Bullies at the Border highlights Roraback's talented skin pounding, as well as his guitar playing and singing abilities. The title track Bullies at the Border and tunes such as Religion and Once Again set the tone like lost Moving Pictures tracks....” - Virtuosity (Spiritualprog.com)
