Album Notes

In 1999, a group of musicians moved to Nashville with the goal of making music that would inspire others. It wasn't long thereafter that they formed an alternative modern rock quartet called PLAIN JANE. Their blend of melodious driven pop/rock sounds and positive based lyrics was something new and fresh but somewhat familiar at the same time. With the help of producer Tony Palacios (acclaimed guitarist for Guardian), PLAIN JANE introduced their debut album. Critics who heard early tracks clearly indicated this CD was ANYTHING BUT PLAIN. The CD spawned 5 radio singles played on Christian Rock Radio, Alternative Secular Radio, Internet Radio and more! Several songs hit the radio charts including 4 weeks at #1 on FreeRock1.com radio. The increased excitement and powerful reviews eventually took PLAIN JANE to TV where they performed on a program called City Nights. In 2003, PLAIN JANE was named GROUP OF THE YEAR at the Kansas City Christian Music Awards. They followed that success in 2004 where they went home with 3 awards; ALBUM OF THE YEAR, LIVE PERFORMER of the Year and the top award of the evening, SONG OF THE YEAR for their ballad CHASING YOU. PLAIN JANE has also won several Unity Awards including GROUP OF THE YEAR, ROCK RECORDED SONG OF THE YEAR and ALTERNATIVE/ROCK ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

Aside from great music, this band has an awesome message to share as well. This message is one of hope and acceptance and can easily be heard in their lyrics. Although PLAIN JANE stopped touring in April 2005 their music will forever be part of the independent, alternative modern rock movement, especially in the Christian market.

This is a true christian power group

I bought this cd about a year ago. Jim O'Brien, the guitarist for Plain Jane was my guitar teacher at the time. He told me that I should buy the cd and check it out. I did, and I am now very thankful that he told me to. This cd opened my eyes to a whole new genre of music. Not all music has to be about death, destruction, and suffering, for this cd shows it in a true form.

Hot buy!

Ohh I love to stumble upon these diamonds in the rough! This album is one hot buy! Have seen this band on a bunch of websites and was lured in by the awesome production, the great lyrics and of course the chick vocal. If they put more attention to marketing the mainstream than the Christian thing they would turn a lot more heads.
