Album Notes

The songs on "Tyler," named after a Chuck Palahniuk character, deal with personal issues. "How can I explain, personal pain?" They conjure up childhood memories of vacations at Jekyll Island, GA (a picture of which appears on the CD itself). Musically, it's a mix of pseudo exotica, Brazilian jazz, and "indie-rock." My descriptions may seem a bit obtuse, so you might want to check out the samples on our discography page. Listening back on the guitar tracks, you can hear influences from Steve Howe (Yes) to Jeff Martin (Idaho). The breezy sounds of High Llamas, Bebel Gilberto, & Cibelle were also influential in forming the bridge section of the longer piece "Arctic Circle." You can hear a better sampling of that at: http://cropcirclecollective.com/planetsdiscography.htm
as the CD Baby sample is of just the first minute or so, and misses that section altogether. Fans of Red House Painters might also want to check this CD out. Thanks for your time.
