Album Notes

From an idea born in 2005, comes The Plastic Thirds’
ambitious concept album Anoxia. Forged out of rhythmically
charged Ani DiFranco style guitars, electronica style beats, prog rock
structures & genuine gritty lyrics, Anoxia cuts clean through
our notions of security.

What do we strive for?

In money, relationships, careers —
The real desire is maintaining the safety of the status quo.

And yet that’s what keeps us here.
Exactly where we are, afraid of any real change.
Silently, invisibly suffocating who we truly are — Anoxia.

Stylistically Anoxia is fashioned out of a blend
of The Police, The Postal Service, Ani DiFranco,
Soul Coughing, Nine Inch Nails, Tool & U2.

But realistically, comparison is pointless.

Anoxia breaks new ground in the form of a new
genre — Acoustic Prog-tronica. Carefully crafted songs
explore depths of meaning with intricate musical structures
while respecting the balance that keeps Anoxia an easy listen.

So if you’re looking for a fluffy pop album or glossy corporate-produced rock,
don’t buy it, you won’t like it. But if you’re looking for a little more, something to sink your whole self into as you discover something intimate and new with every listen — The Plastic Third’s Anoxia is a must have.

Mastered by accredited engineer Stephen Marsh in 2007.
