Biography
SINCE ITS INCEPTION THE PLATEROS HAS WORKED HARD AT BREAKING THE MOLD OF NATIVE AMERICAN BLUES MUSIC. COOKING UP A UNIQUE HYBRID OF BLUES, ROCK, ONLY COMPARABLE TO ARTISTS LIKE SRV, LOS LONELY BOYS, AND INDIGENOUS. THE PLATEROS IS IN GOOD COMPANY, THIS IS MUSIC FOR THE MOST DISCERNING MUSIC LOVER AS WELL AS A SOUNDTRACK TO THE LIVES OF THE YOUNG AT HEART.

THE PLATEROS HAS EARNED A REPUTATION AS BEING ONE OF THE MOST DYNAMIC AND EXCITING GROUPS ON THE MAP. ALWAYS WILLING TO GO THE EXTRA MILE THEY CONTINUE TO CAPTURES THE HEARTS OF YOUNG AND OLD AT EVERY DESTINATION. THEY WELCOME ALL AGES, GENDERS, RACES, WHATEVER, WE WANT TO PLAY FOR EVERYONE ON THE PLANET, THE BANDS BASIC GOAL. THE STAGE IS WHERE WE COME ALIVE, IF YOU LOVE MUSIC; WE WANT THE CHANCE TO MAKE YOU COME ALIVE THRU THE GIFT THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO US. SONICALLY.

HERE IS JUST A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US:
The group consist of Levi on Guitar / Vocals, with his father, Murphy on Bass guitar / Vocals, and his older cousin Doug on Drums.

Its a family band from the Eastern Agency of the Navajo Nation, for generations since the late 50s, Platero's have been know for singing and as musicians within Tohajiilee Indian Reservation near Albuquerque NM . In 2003 the youngest Platero made his way to the main stage of performing members of the family, Levi is one of those few kids that just connects with music if it be drums, keyboards or the GUITAR, Raised in a musical family, it was no doubt that this would be the road he would take, as it is the same for Douglas who also grew up in a musical family in Kayenta AZ.

In the Winter of 2004, Levi and his cousin Douglas, together, started playing and practicing almost every day after work and school. In November, Murphy sat in with them at the small home studio/ practice room just to see what they knew, later he found out that the boys had been given a gift. From that moment on Levi would press his dad to continue to practice with them. In December of 2004, they played their first engagement. "amazing" was a word that was used after The Plateros completed thier set.

HERE'S WHAT THEY ARE SAYIN ABOUT THE PLATEROS;

To say that we, the cast and crew, where blown away by this amazingly talented power trio would be an understatement. Not only did they play with amazing musicianship, their live show was very entertaining, especially the earth shattering guitar work of Levi Platero, who plays with such skill and grace that we where all left speechless, (no small feat considering a lot of our crew are musicians themselves!).

Levi Platero is on a par with the best guitarists in captivity, at least from what I heard last night. Salvador's front man Nic Gonzales was blown away by him too, saying he wanted to take him on tour with them. He's probably going wind up ministering to a secular crowd, for his killer guitar work.

I saw you guys perform downtown at the Summerfest in Albuquerque, and man was I blown away!!! I was actually more impressed when I got your CD after your set and saw that you base your music on the Lord and Gettin' It Right! I am a guitar player myself and was freaking out on Levi, awesome for such a young age, I wish you guys the best of luck and hope to see you perform again in the very near future. God Bless!!!

The Plateros were awesome at the summerfest. It's so amazing to see a 14 year old play and sing like that. I guess it runs in the family. What a tremendous gift,,, Way to go Plateros!
God Bless... Be Safe....
