ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Vocalist Karin Plato is based in Vancouver BC (Canada).

She grew up on the prairies in the province of Saskatchewan where she attended the University Of Saskatchewan and obtained her Bachelor of Music Degree in piano and voice.

She moved to Vancouver in 1985 where she furthered her music studies at Capilano College.

While there she began her studies in jazz and arranging.

She has released four recordings of jazz standards and originals and was nominated for a Juno award (Canada's version of a Grammy) in 2000 for her recording "There's Beauty In The Rain".

JAZZ REPORT magazine says "Karin Plato seems to have a great future in front of her...her delivery is straightforward and expressive, variations are subtle and soulful plus her haunting voice is appealing."

JAZZ REVIEW says "her vocals are hauntingly beautiful, filled with sensitivity and a sense of mellow desire, and she sings each word with perfect clarity.
