Founded by Brad Wait in December 2005, the band hails from Marin County, just north of San Francisco, California. The band features songs written by Brad and bassist Rich Recker that are eclectic and fit well in pop, alternative, and Americana genres.
Pleasure Trip songs are melodic and dynamic with catchy hooks, compelling lyrics, and intricate arrangements. The band mixes current day angst and power pop energy, delivering driving chord arrangements and melodies reminiscent of 60s pop and guitar-based modern rock.
Listening to the band is like spending time with a good friend who reveals deep secrets and passions, and perhaps gives you advice you may not be ready to hear. You will find yourself singing along as if the experiences they share are indeed your own.

Classic American music
author: Zvi from Toronto
A classic slice of pop-inflected American rock. Put this CD in your changer, settle back behind the wheel, and drive down the freeway. It's perfect road music, with propelling drums, catchy melodies, good songwriting, great guitar work, and tuneful singing. | From the propulsive double-guitar drive of "Don't You See" to the mysterious synth-inflected hum of "Angie's Song", Pleasure Trip seems comfortable with all sorts of lessons learned from the last forty years of rock evolution. "Never One Thing" has a solid Lou Reed feel; "She" has the acoustic rock ambience of a Blue Rodeo hit. And you'll be humming the catchy dark low guitar riff of "All I Want". | There's little too much cymbal here, not enough development of a melody there, and some of the lyrics are a little rock-generic. But these are minor points -- and I can tell because I keep listening to it and enjoying it more each time. | A great release and sure to please you as you drive down that big American highway.
