Album Notes

The word \"Plectro\" (Plectrum) can be musically defined as a pick or a small stick, wich has been used since ancient periods of history in order to play a string instrument. When it comes to Andean Colombian Music, the Plectro is basically used with instruments such as the Bandola, the Tiple and Tiple Requinto. Additionally, Plectro also means \"inspiration\".

Plectro Trio was founded in Cali (Colombia), in february of 2001 in order to create a standard work, including traditional elements as well as new tendencies of Andean Colombian Music. It also involved universal repertory within the pattern that best characterizes Colombian Music: Bandola Andina, Tiple and Guitar.

The members of Plectro Trio: Javier Andrés Mesa Martínez, Carlos Alberto González and Andrés García started as inquisitive children who became deep investigators of typical string instruments. Moreover, each of them has individually achieved the most prestigious awards in several events and contests around Colombia.
