Plethora is a recording project started by Kansas City musician Aaron Derington in 2003. The album was created almost entirely in his recording space, and reflects the various types of music that has influenced him in his life. It contains elements of jazz, techno, rock, world music, experimental music, and pop. A variety of instruments are featured on the album including synthesizers, drums, piano, guitar, omnichord, and xylorimba. A collaboration with fellow composer Matt Collene results in the dark and moody "Foibles of Illbient". The final track, "Invisible", is a deconstruction of Clay Aiken's popular song.
