Album Notes

putnam murdock

Putnam Murdock got his start as a professional musician on the road. As front man for the successful Boulder, Colorado based rock and roll group, Chief Broom achieved great successes such as: earning slots on the 1997 H.O.R.D.E. tour, playing Red Rocks Amphitheatre with David Grisman and Merle Saunders, and selling out venues from Colorado to Oregon to California. Upon completion of this type of "music school" in 1999, Murdock attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated with a songwriting degree in 2002.

Since then, Murdock has established himself as a singer, guitarist, and songwriter in the Boston area. He recorded his solo debut album in 2003, and has been supporting that record from New England to Colorado. Last year he performed with the Samples, William Topley, and Kaki King. Murdock has also been involved in a project with Reed Foehl. These two saw their songs appear on various television shows such as 'Joan of Arcadia' and 'Dawson's Creek'. They have toured extensively to promote Reed's nationally distributed record 'Spark', that Murdock co-wrote and performed on, and shared stages with Taj Mahal, David Lindley, and the Dave Matthews side stage.

Putnam Murdock continues to hone his craft of songwriting and performing, while building a fan base and network throughout the country. His versatility and emotional content leave his audiences wanting more.

An undiscovered gem in the pop-culture catacombs. Putnam displays a diverse set of emotions on this release... a burst of fresh air in the smug world of formulaic songwriting.
