Album Notes

After many years garnering life experience through military service as well as learning different facets of opposing life perceptions: conservative and liberal...religious and agnostic..through travels and exposure to cultures unlike his own, P.N.G. decided that music was not only the final destination, but a brand new location for experimentalism and creating material that not only sounds unlike anything else, but lyrically reflective of the times we live in alongside a perceptive and expressive style that is deep, real, and based on these experiences. Although a DIY-er when it comes to composing music, Pernon is more focused on strong content and meaningful conveyance through concepts, both concrete and abstract. Fearless to tackle subjects contraversial and considered too sacred to lend an opinion, P.N.G. has brought "The Darkest August" for your consideration. This EP questions the current American cultural derision using Hurricane Katrina and 9/11/01 as the backdrop. And rather than trivialise these devastating events through glad-handing and patriotic schlock, "The Darkest August: Life inside The Myst" digs further down into the questions of our own humanity as the most affluent nation on the planet. The racism, the violence, the ignorance; this "myst", he preceives ,that we are ALL responsible for creating and fostering as a nation: it asks more questions than it answers. P.N.G. believes that if your going to make a living creating music, then be honest. Be foward. Be fearless. And by all means...say something..
