In 2007 Poetic Prophetic released his “New Jeru’s Finest” mixtape and was met with satisfactory reviews. On that set mixtape, Poe flexed his lyrical confidence by exhibiting a massive amount of ego. Since then Poetic Prophetic has been humbled by the cruelty that the world has to offer. Karma has caught up with the struggling artist as he battles day to day trying desperately to not let his window to life’s opportunities close on him forever.
On “EMOtivate Yourself” listeners will really get a glimpse at the mind of Poetic Prophetic and truly understand what has driven him to his self destruction. This album can almost be looked at as a gateway to my universe, my audio diary. It is a blend of true school hiphop with emo overtones. The majority of this album is very honest with as little ego tripping as possible. “EMOtivation”, “Escape The Pain”, “Marks Of a Scar” are some examples of the emo hiphop blend. There is a slight break-up to the negative energy with some faster paced fun lively music on “Side 2 Side”, “Cocaine Flow”, and “The Amazoness” along with some true hiphop dedicatory songs like “Now You Know” and “Syllable Swordsmen”.
On “EMOtivate Yourself” I decide to present myself very honestly and cater to much broader audience, but try not to stray too far from my current fan base. I try to serve everyone with a little bit of everything on the spectrum.
