Album Notes

MAMMA'S FALLEN ANGEL: A Tribute To Poison pays homage to not only the Glam Slam kings, but a band that helped shape the musical climate of an entire decade. Hit songs like Talk Dirty To Me and Every Rose Has Its Thorn only represent a couple of the many Top 40 hits performed on this album. A plethora of top instrumentalists and vocalists have given these songs a flair that will further excite their already rabid fans. Come one, come all and join the wildest party of the past two decades with MAMMA'S FALLEN ANGEL: A TRIBUTE TO POISON.

Poison formed in 1983 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania under the moniker of Paris. Later moving to Los Angeles, the band became the biggest draw on the highly competetive club circuit. In 1986 Poison released their debut, Look What The Cat Dragged In. The band quickly became MTV darlings, scored hits with tracks like Talk Dirty To Me & Cry Tough and single handedly started the 80's glam metal craze.

From that point on the band released three more studio albums, a live album and a greatest hits package; equaling sales of over 15 Million records sold. The band performed a huge reunion tour in the summer of 1999 to sold out crowds everywhere, proving that the bands loyal fanbase remained intact. Now it is a new millenium and the band shows no sign of quitting. A new album, Hollyweird hits stores in April and a Spring / Summer tour with Cinderella and others follows. Could it be that the party is about ready to start all over again?

Interesting arrangements on some of Poisons best songs.

most of this album is great stuff. reinterprets some material instead of giving it the same ol same ol. "Talk Dirty" is slowed down into a sick little groove, which is the highlight of the disc. The "trip hop" "I wont forget you" is an idea i have always had and its done well. "Ride the Wind" and "Fallen Angel" and "Cry Tough" also standout because of the reinterpretation of melody lines and alternative takes on solos etc.... good stuff for a Poison freak.

Great job by lesser known musicians!

There are numerous Poison tributes out there (including one from Bret Michaels!?!), and this is the best I have heard. The songs are well done, well recorded, and hold the spirit of the Poison style. The musicians are not household names, but each of them does a good job on this tribute. There's even a female singer on some of the tunes. Crank it!
