Album Notes

I'm a study in dichotomy- a midwestern gal who migrated to the South, a jazz trained tree hugger, a responsible bohemian, an extroverted introspective. My greatest adventure was giving up a rewarding school teaching job to live in a musician's loft with five guys and my German Shepherd. It's obvious my yin and yang require equal time and attention.

My musical influences range from soul searching singer/songwriters like James Taylor, Karla Bonoff and Shawn Colvin to R&B inspired folks like Carole King and Michael McDonald. I think it is the blending of sophisticated and funky jazz/gospel keyboards combined with the more down-home vocals and guitars that defines my particular style~so I guess when describing my stories set to song, a female Bruce Hornsby may come to mind.

My loves includes songwriting, playing music, dancing, camping, ping pong and dogs~not necessarily in that order. I love to create anywhere~ but the recording studio's gotta be one of the best places on earth.

I'm looking forward to a life that continues to include lots of music making whether on my own, with the great network of musicians I already work with or the fabulous ones I hope to continue to meet.
